Rules

6 commandsMessagesOpen in Telegram

Write your group's rules once, and members can read them with /rules, or through a Rules button in welcomes, notes and filters ({rules}).

In private, by default#

/rules in a group answers with a button that opens the rules in private chat, so long rules don't fill the group. /privaterules off posts them in the group instead.

Commands#

Everyone

/rules
Shows the rules. As a reply, points someone at them.

Admins

/setrules <text>
Sets the rules. Or reply to a message to use it, buttons and media included.
/resetrules
Removes the rules. Also /clearrules.
/privaterules <on/off>
Send the rules in private through a button. On by default.
/setrulesbutton <text>
Changes the button label, up to 40 characters.
/resetrulesbutton
Back to "Rules".

Examples#

/setrules Be kind. No spam. English only.
Short and sweet.
/setrulesbutton Read before posting
A new button label.
/rules noformat
The raw source, to copy and edit.

Good to know#

  • Rules take the full formatting: buttons, quotes, random versions and fillings about the reader.
  • Everything here works from private chat after /connect.
