Build your admin team without opening group settings. Marina can promote members with a ready-made set of rights, give admins custom titles and show members who runs the group.
Four levels of promotion#
Pick how much power a new admin gets:
- /lowpromote: delete messages, invite users and pin. Good for helpers.
- /promote: the usual moderator set, adding group info changes and bans.
- /midpromote: everything in /promote, plus video chats and topics.
- /fullpromote: every right Marina can give, including adding new admins.
Marina can only hand out rights she has herself, and Telegram only lets her edit admins she promoted.
Anonymous admins#
When an admin posts anonymously, Marina can't see who they are, so by default she asks them to confirm with a button. The group owner can turn that off with /anonadmin on. Be careful: anyone who can post as the group then gets access to admin commands.
Commands#
Everyone
/adminlist
The owner and admins, with their titles. Also /admins.
Admins
/promote <user> [title]
Makes someone an admin who can change info, delete, ban, invite and pin.
/lowpromote <user> [title]
A lighter admin: delete, invite and pin only.
/midpromote <user> [title]
Like /promote, plus video chats and topics.
/fullpromote <user> [title]
Every right Marina can give, including adding admins.
/demote <user>
Removes all admin rights.
/title <user> <title>
Sets a custom title, up to 16 characters without emoji.
/admincache
Reloads the admin list now, after someone was promoted by hand. Once every 10 minutes.
/adminerror <on/off>
Tell members when they try an admin command. On by default.
Chat owner
/anonadmin <on/off>
Let anonymous admins use commands without confirming who they are. Off by default.
Examples#
/promote @alice Moderator
Alice becomes an admin titled Moderator.
/title @alice Night shift
Change her title.
/demote @alice
Take her rights away.
Good to know#
- A user can be given by reply, @username, id or text mention.
- An anonymous admin's /promote (with
/anonadmin on) gives every right Marina has except adding admins, since she can't see the sender's own rights. - Send /anonadmin or /adminerror alone to see the current value.
